Chromatica: A World in Color
June 13 - September 5
Chromatica: A World in Color explores the universal language of color. Drawing from multiple artists and loaned collections from Museum of the Red River and the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, this group exhibition brings together artworks and culturally significant objects that highlight how color conveys symbolism, identity, and emotion across different societies and periods.
By presenting color as both a visual element and a cultural lens, Chromatica invites viewers to consider how pigments, materials, and meanings have circulated through time, revealing unexpected connections between art, history, and human creativity.

Fragments, Remnants, and Remains
Cole Gallery June 13 - September 5
In the Cole Gallery, artist Curtis Gannon will present, “Fragments, Remnants, and Remains.” Gannon’s collage imagery is grounded in a childhood love of comic books and animation. His studio practice begins with small collages that form the basis for drawings, paintings, and sculpture, recreating memories and feelings that reflect his experiences.

Mark is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture, and is a registered architect in Texas. Mark began drawing around age 5 but did not begin painting until after college. He is largely self-taught, drawing on realist painters like Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and Edward Hopper.
"Drawing is a fundamental way of engaging the world, a primary way of encountering reality," Stewart says. "I believe my desire to draw anchored me to realism... it is satisfying to see a three-dimensional reality emerge on a two-dimensional sheet of paper."

Youth Art Council - applications are now open!
Wild Art Wednesday is a hands-on summer art program for families that takes place every Wednesday from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM. Each week, participants will create a new art project inspired by a different female artist, giving children and families the opportunity to explore new materials, techniques, and creative styles together.
Featured artists include inspiring creatives such as Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Yayoi Kusama, Kara Walker, and more. Projects are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible for a variety of ages and skill levels.

Enthusiastic museum docents are available to help you get the most out of your visit to the Pearl. Whether you are visiting from out of town, a museum regular wanting the inside scoop, or a visiting class of students, the Pearl offers docent-guided tours for those wishing to schedule ahead of time.
The Pearl Fincher is proud to have educational support provided by Texas Women for the Arts (TWA), a program of the Texas Cultural Trust.

Designed for preschool-aged children, ArtStart combines storytime and hands-on art activities that spark imagination and build confidence. Each weekly session encourages creativity, visual learning, and social skills in a fun, supportive setting—with class sizes limited to just 10 children for individual attention.
Parents and caregivers are invited to join the fun as little artists explore, create, and connect.
Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
