Summer 2019 Art Camp
at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts:

Heroes &
Villains
Join us this summer and embrace your inner hero! Discover your art superpowers in this one-week long "Heroes & Villains" art camp, where students will develop their own superhero – or antihero – and express their unique abilities through a variety of art projects. Students will start each day in the galleries with a brief look at artwork featured in our summer exhibition, My Hero! Contemporary Art & Superhero Action. We'll examine what gives superheroes their abilities, how villains (or anti-heroes) are central in developing storylines, and how society and artists interpret these characters.  Students will create their own "super" being and design every aspect of their character, including logo, color scheme, costume, vehicle, and more. Art media for this camp includes acrylic painting, printmaking, drawing, and sculpture.
