ART STUDIO 101
For students ages 8 through 12
In Person Instruction
Cost (includes 8 classes and all materials):
Museum members: $325
In person classes are limited to 4 - 6 students for social distancing purposes.
Virtual classes are limited to 6 - 10 students.
As the Pearl School of Art launches its inaugural sessions, limited course options will be offered. The first class will focus on fundamental drawing skills. Students will learn fundamental techniques such as shading, proportion, texture and value. Students will work with grey scales and create projects experimenting with different mediums including pencil, colored pencil, pastels and watercolors.
In this class, there will be an even balance of drawing from imagination and drawing from observation. Drawing from imagination is very important at this age and teaching them a few art concepts that can be applied to their drawings will open their creativity and imagination. We teach drawing from observation and help students to “see” and notice details that will help them to translate it to paper. This class builds confidence and individual creativity in a guided but fun artistic environment.
Virtual art classes are delivered via Zoom and facilitated by one of our educators. Students will receive an email delivering additional information on the day before or morning of prior to each weekly class. Individual supply kits will be supplied for each registered student and available for pickup the week before the first class up until the beginning of the first class. Additional information will be included in a registration confirmation email.
Registration is completed on a first come, first serve basis. In order to maintain the flow and size of each class, students will attend the same day each week for an entire session.
All supplies will be provided by the School of Art.
