Pearlformance Concert Series
The Pearlformance concert series brings a variety of performance art pieces to the Northwest Houston community. Each exhibition cycle, the series features a new selection of artists performing in the intimate setting of the museum's Main Gallery.

Holiday Concert

The Main Gallery of the Pearl Fincher Museum will be alive with Christmas cheer on Sunday, December 5 thanks to a performance by AURORA—a trio for harp, cello and flute.
The trio features Susanna Wang on harp, Katie Beth Harry on cello, and Allison Vitek on flute. All three are professional musicians and music educators, performing with groups such as the Symphony of Southeast Texas, Galveston Symphony, and the Houston Civic Symphony.
. Tickets are $90 for museum members or $100 for non-members, and include refreshments with open bar

Susanna Wang, Harp
Susanna Wang is a music educator and performer based in Houston, Texas. Most recently she served as principal harpist with the Central Texas Philharmonic for five seasons and previously performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, Mobile Symphony, Density512 in Austin, Galveston Symphony, Symphony North of Houston, Houston Civic Symphony and Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra. A lover of chamber music, Susanna is a founding member of Shoso Duo, a shakuhachi and harp ensemble merging western and eastern cultures and music, and AURORA, a harp, flute, and cello ensemble creating unique concert experiences through exciting programming and innovative spaces. In addition to performing, Susanna maintains a private harp and piano studio and takes great delight in training and mentoring young musicians. She is on faculty at Lone Star College and the Houston Summer Harp Festival, serves as the Vice President of the Greater Houston Chapter of the American Harp Society, and is the music ministry director at King’s Cross Church in Cypress. Susanna graduated with a master’s degree in harp performance from Stephen F. Austin State University where she studied under Ms. Emily Mitchell. |
ALLISON VITEK, Flute
Allison Vitek is a freelance musician, flute teacher, and bookkeeper in the Houston area. She teaches from her home studio in Cypress and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Flute from the Music Teacher’s National Association. She is one of the founding members of AURORA - a trio for flute, cello, and harp - which performs all over the Houston area. Allison is also a certified bookkeeper and owns A-Sharp Bookkeeper, a small bookkeeping firm catering to musicians. In her spare time Allison likes to write arrangements for flute chamber music and also serves on the board of the Houston Flute Club as their Treasurer. Allison received a Bachelor’s of Music in Instrumental Performance (Magna cum Laude) from Southwestern University in 2013. |
KATIE BETH HARRY, Cello
Katie Beth Harry is an active cellist and private teacher based in Houston. She loves to perform and play in a variety of music genres. Katie Beth has participated in several music festivals, including Masterworks, Stringendo, National, and Green Mountain Music Festivals. She has performed in master classes taught by Timothy Eddy, Anne Martindale Williams, and Eighth Blackbird cellist Nicholas Photinos. She holds a Bachelors of Music from Baylor University and earned her Masters of Music in Cello Performance from Florida State University. Her primary teachers include Dr. Gary Hardie and Greg Sauer. Katie Beth currently teaches and performs in and around the Houston area. She enjoys playing both classical and nonclassical music, and has recorded with artists across many genres. Katie Beth plays with the Symphony of Southeast Texas and is also a founding member and cellist of the trio AURORA. |
