Grant Maniér:
Eco-Impressionism

July 18 - August 17, 2019
Hillery Community Gallery
Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts

Grant Maniér (maun-yay) is a local young artist, author, and illustrator who combines his two worlds: autism and art. His childhood obsession with paper eventually became his form of art therapy, as he uses his ability to focus and orchestrate colors to create unique works of art. Grant is also changing the perceptions of how to reduce, reuse, and recycle by creating detailed collages using thousands of pieces of recycled calendars, magazines, posters, puzzles, and more.

As an award-winning Eco-Artist and advocate, Grant takes his visual art exhibits and literacy program into schools and organizations to teach the importance of environmental responsibility and inclusion through his art and children’s book, Grant the Jigsaw Giraffe – Different is More. Grant also gives back to the local community through philanthropic efforts, raising funds for student scholarships, therapy, camps, and more. My goal for this art exhibit is to help teach others the importance of protecting our planet and the beautiful animals that are fighting for survival every day.  Living with autism, I understand challenges and struggles, but it’s not about what I can’t do, it’s about what I can do to make a difference.
- Grant Maniér
