Red Oak Ballroom at the Norris Conference Center, CityCentre Plaza
816 Town and Country Blvd., Houston, TX 77024

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts announces the 10th Annual Pearls of Art Gala: Rare Treasures on Saturday, April 8, 2017. This glistening milestone event at the Norris Center’s Red Oak Ballroom, conveniently located in the heart of City Centre and connected to Hotel Sorella, will also celebrate the Pearl’s own crown jewels and 2017 Honorees, Carol & Calvin Cobb.

As the museum's largest development event each year, the Pearls of Art Gala raises approximately half of the museum's annual operating funds and is one of the most socially visible events for Houston-area residents. Dedicated community volunteers Dana Hines and Sue Stewart are Co-Chairs of the 2017 Pearls of Art Gala.

Carol and Calvin Cobb

Carol and Calvin Cobb are founding patrons and truly the crown jewels of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts. After they were asked to host a Pearl volunteer event at their artful home in Cypress in 2007, the Cobbs‘ passion for community, education, and arts eventually drove them to become outstanding supporters of the Pearl.

Calvin has served on the board since 2007 including his current role of Chairman. Carol has served as a Guild member, Decorations Chair for the 1st Gala honoring Pearl Fincher, 2012 and 2015 Gala Co-Chair, and a committee member for all 10 Pearls of Art Galas. Carol has decorated hundreds of area homes for over 40 years as owner of Design Patch. She is also active in the Centrum Arts League, Shining Stars Guild, and Northwest Assistance Ministries where she co-chaired Jeans & Jewels in 2010.

Calvin, an esteemed engineer and consultant to the energy industry for 42 years, has also served as President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Both are active in the United Methodist Church and added to their joys are bucket-list travel and their combined 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Carol and Calvin have rewarded us for 10 years with a treasure chest of their time, talents, and resources and the 2017 Pearls of Art Gala thanks and honors them as true Rare Treasures to the Pearl.
