pastels Revisited
june 5-29, 2014

Pastels Revisited features the work of 21 members of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas, an organization established in Houston in 2004 to promote the beauty of soft pastel painting.

The goal of the organization is to educate artists and art lovers about the qualities of soft pastel as a fine art medium, which is accomplished through artist demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions. The artwork featured in Pastels Revisited explores a variety of subject matter and demonstrates different pastel techniques.

Visitors are invited to learn more about the medium and try their hand at pastel painting during Family Day on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 11am to 3pm. All ages are welcome to participate in interactive artist demos and create their own original pastel painting to take home!

The following artists from the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas will be doing live demonstrations in the museum lobby during Family Day:
  • Linda Dellandre
  • Betty James
  • Kathy Fediw
  • Pan Schrader
