Eye of the Beholder
|
Eye of the Beholder presents a series of photographs from Bob Blome, a local artist intent on capturing the details and unexpected views found in both natural and architectural surroundings. Inspired as a young man by National Geographic magazine, Blome developed a life-long passion for photography that was continually fueled by his extensive travels across the United States and to a myriad of international sites.
Blome actively pursued his interest in the medium upon retiring from a 40-year career with ExxonMobil. As a self-taught photographer, he aspires to the standard of excellence set by those featured in National Geographic magazine and builds upon his craft by observing the work of others. Blome is particularly fond of the Impressionist painters and their ability to effectively frame a scene and utilize different perspectives. Eye of the Beholder will be on view in the Marilyn Hillery Community Gallery from August 23 to September 27, 2014. |
