Adult Art Workshops
Adult Art Workshops are designed for beginners, but all levels are welcome! Artist instructors offer a variety of workshops throughout the year exploring different media and techniques. Typically, one daytime and two evening sessions are offered for each workshop. Currently each workshop is limited to 10 participants.

For most workshops, all supplies necessary to complete the project are included with the workshop fee. Any additional supplies required of participants will be noted in the workshop description.

Certain workshops may have a higher fee depending on the length of the workshop, instructor fees, and supply costs, but typical workshop fees range from $45-60. All workshops provide Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit for educators.

Reservations for Adult Art Workshops can be made online by clicking on the registration links listed below. For more information please contact Community Engagement Director Emily Guerra at emily@pearlmfa.org, or call 281-376-6322.
Safety Protocol
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, Adult Art Workshop participants are required to:
  • Bring their own face mask
  • Wear a face mask at all times while in the museum
  • Have their temperature checked upon arrival at the museum entrance
  • Respect social distancing rules

For the participants' safety, Plexiglass shields are set up between every two tables. Sets of tables are positioned 6 feet apart. Disposable gloves (if needed) and disposable aprons will be provided. Table top surfaces are cleaned for every class.

February and March 2021

Instructor:
Holly Hunter Berry

Picture
Join us for a hands-on art workshop with Holly Hunter Berry, the currently featured artist in our Hillery Community Gallery exhibition, The Illuminated Path. In this 3-hour workshop participants will learn about the artist’s process and how they can apply it to their own work. Take a few hours to relax and create your own vibrant landscape painting!
Starting with a well-composed reference photo (provided by the artist), participants will learn about underpainting, layering and texture, and working with transparent and opaque paints. While the subject is a landscape, these techniques can be used to paint other subjects as well.
This workshop is open to all experience levels. All art supplies will be provided. Each workshop is limited to 10 participants, so reserve your seat early!

Workshop Fees:
Teachers* and Museum Members: $50
Non-museum Members: $55

*Educators receive 3 hours of CPE credit for this workshop.
