The mission of the Volunteer Guild is:

  • Promote volunteerism in the Northwest Houston area by providing vital, on-going volunteer support for the Pearl’s educational programs
  • Develop leadership potential and knowledge within its membership
  • Further perpetuate the appreciation of fine art and the Pearl in the community.

Become a Member

Your guild membership includes special lectures at monthly meetings, invitations to guild only events, email updates on guild activities, and access to volunteers opportunities at the Pearl.

Annual Memberships are valid from August 1 to July 31. You can join at the following levels:

Active Member: $15

Dual Member: $23

Contributing Member: $30 (non-active)

Committees

As a part of your membership, you are invited to join a guild committee.  This is a great way to get involved in a project that reflects your interests. In a committee, you can meet new people, learn new skills, and give back to the museum and the community.

 

Day Trips

Plans and hosts day trips to Houston area galleries, museums, and other art-related venues.

Hospitality

Provides refreshments and decorations for Guild events.  Plans Fall Membership coffee, Holiday Luncheon, and Annual Spring Volunteer Guild Recognition Luncheon.

 

Membership

Welcomes new members, maintains the membership database, and handles membership renewals for current members. Recruits new members in various settings, including the Fall Membership Coffee.


Student Art Contest

Plans all aspects of the annual juried art competition for area students from 1st to 12th grade. Manages the occasional creation, promotion, and sales of publications, the proceeds of which benefit the museum.

Day Trips

The Guild Day Trip Committee organizes trips to area art attractions for guild members on a semi-monthly basis, according to the availability of the Harris County Precinct 4 buses.
