FAMILY PROGRAMS

Museum Family Days

The Pearl offers monthly Family Days with hands-on art projects, discovery activities, storytelling, performances and tours.
 

 

ADULT PROGRAMS

Workshops for Art Teachers

The Pearl offers at least one professional development workshop per exhibition cycle (three times a year). The museum is a SBEC approved provider of continuing education credits for art teachers.

 

Adult Art Workshops

Adult Art Workshops are offered on a monthly basis, and consist of 3+ hours of instruction plus an open studio day with the instructor to complete any unfinished work. Museum members receive discounted tuition.

 

Evening Lecture Series

Offered monthly, these lectures cover a range of topics associated with the current exhibitions.

Pen and Paintbrush Book Club

The Pearl, in partnership with our neighbor, the Barbara Bush Library, presents the Pen & Paintbrush Book Discussion Group.  The book club selects written works that relate to the current exhibitions on display at the museum. 

 

Community Gallery

The purpose of the Community Gallery is to showcase artwork made in the Northwest Houston area by providing a low-cost exhibition space for local artists.

 

 

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Summer Museum Camp

The Pearl offers specialized art camps each summer on the subject of the museum's current exhibitions.  Museum members  receive discounted tuition.

 

Student Art Contest

The Annual Student Art Contest seeks to recognize talented student artists in public, private, and home schools in the Greater Cypress Creek area.  The purpose of the contest is to instill an appreciation of art and to promote the Pearl to the greater community.

 

Teen Workshops

Art Workshops for Teens are offered monthly for students in grades 7-12.  The workshops are designed to teach new techniques and introduce various media.
