Art Start
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts’ Art Start program provides a valuable opportunity for young children to engage in visual learning and creative expression. Through weekly sessions, preschool-aged children can develop their visual literacy skills and expand their understanding and appreciation of art. Each class consists of storytime and a related art activity, which allows children to connect with art in a meaningful way and encourages their curiosity and imagination. By building these skills, children are better prepared for academic success and can approach learning with greater confidence and creativity.
In addition to promoting visual learning and creativity, the Art Start program also provides a unique opportunity for children to build social skills and foster a sense of community. The small class size, limited to 10 children per session, allows for individualized attention and a supportive environment in which children can interact with one another and their teacher. This experience can help children develop social and emotional skills, including communication, cooperation, and respect for others. The program also encourages family involvement, with parents or caregivers encouraged to participate in the sessions and support their children’s learning and creative development. Overall, the Art Start program provides a valuable foundation for young children’s learning and growth, helping to prepare them for a successful future.
